 Uterine fibroids may be affected by pregnancy, and women who are pregnant can have their pregnancy affected by uterine fibroids. If you have had children, you are less likely to ever get a uterine fibroid.  You may have been told that your placenta is too close to the cervix. And the question is just how far away should a placenta be implanted for it to be a healthy placenta. A placenta that covers the entire cervix is called a placenta previa. When there is labor, at term ,the placenta covering an area that is dilating, dangerous bleeding. Earlier in pregnancy, such as at 4 and 5 months, even with a placenta previa dangerous bleeding is unusual. Placentas need to be far from the dilating cervix when it comes to labor or dangerous bleeding can occur.
