These bacteria can cause bacterial vaginosis, urethritis, cervicitis, endometritis, and most importantly pelvic inflammatory disease. These can be tested for, and treated, and your partner can be treated as well. When we have symptoms of pain, or bleeding, or discharge, or problems cramping after intercourse, the missed diagnosis of pelvic inflammatory disease cannot be understated.
