Our bodies have many ways of eliminating waste, er, besides
the obvious. One reason your physician harps on that “good guy cholesterol”
stuff is that the HDL cholesterol molecule can clean out the other cholesterol
molecules and make sure they don’t get deposited as waste piles cluttering your
veins. But the most potent clean up system we have is based on a set of complex
enzymes in the cytochrome P450 group. These enzymes can add molecules to other
molecules through chemical reactions. And when chemists study this they found
there was a way to detect their action when a specific pigment color detector
signaled with this pigment 450. But barring any real worry about why they are
named this, the group of molecule splitters (that’s what an enzyme does) is a
critical piece of clearing toxins from our body. And we need an army of genes
to do it, over 50 and in fact some of these are stored in what are called
mitochondria. Mitochondria are the little energy substation within our cells.
Probably once they were real organisms that came to live within us, and they
originated a long long time ago. In fact we can show these P450 genes
originated about 1.5 billion years ago. This is a very long time ago, for
instance, the Clan of the Cave Bear book, that took place in the time period
about 25,000 years ago. So that’s’ still 1.4999+ billion before that!
Decidual Cast Periods can be fairly easy, passing some tissue at a time, or off can come the whole lining in one piece called a decidual cast. Generally the lining of the uterus is only 6-8 mm thick at the time of the menstrual period, and it is shed gradually, a few cells at a time. The decidual cast is when the entire lining passes spontaneously. It's not uncommon, but it usually both uncomfortable, and alarming to some. But us women are designed to have some sort of periods Or Not? We have to pass tissue each month. Or Not? Are they good for us? Or Not? Do we want them? Or Not? Is this something that is individual? Or Not? It's a complex topic that I will be discussing a lot over my time in this blog. So lets start with basics: How much do we bleed and what are we loosing, and just what was this that the patient passed? And another basic: track your periods, and the Women's Health Practice site http://www.womenshealthpractice.com/media/pdf/menstrual_chart.pdf you...
